10 Worst Things The Kingpin Has Ever Done

For a lot of superheroes, their worst fear is that their archenemy might one day discover their secret identity. Kingpin proved pretty much exactly why that is.

The classic storyline Born Again all began with Daredevil's former girlfriend Karen Page. Years earlier, Karen had left New York to become an actress. However, her career soon tanked and she was reduced to starring in porn films to fund her crippling heroin addiction. She eventually became so desperate that she sold Daredevil's real identity for another hit.

This information then trickled its way upwards to the Kingpin, who used it to absolutely destroy Matt Murdock's life.

He started by using his contacts to have the IRS freeze Matt's accounts and the bank foreclose on his apartment. Then he bribed a police officer to say that he saw Matt pay a witness to commit perjury.

Foggy Nelson was able to defend Matt in court and keep him out of jail. However, he was still barred from practising law and the attacks only got worse from there. Kingpin then firebombed his home and dressed an escaped lunatic up as Daredevil to completely destroy his reputation.

Destitute and homeless, Matt was completely broken and fell into a state of deluded paranoia for a time.
