At some point, we've all thought about how cool it would be to have superpowers. Even thought mutants are terrified when their abilities activate for the first time, it doesn't take long before they think it's the coolest thing ever. Being able to fly. Teleport anywhere with a thought. What's not to love?

Unfortunately, not everyone gets the luck of the draw. In Uncanny X-Men #408, we're introduced to Jeffrey Treemont; the CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation. Despite his wealth, Treemont lived a life of misery due to his unfortunate mutation.

His cells break down too quickly, causing him to age twice as fast as normal. This unfortunate ability caused him to develop all sorts of physical ailments associated with old age while he was in the prime of his life.

Now, because of his vast wealth, you'd assume he would have access to the best medication money can by. Surely he can ease the pain with tablets or morphine, right?

But Treemont's mutation gives him immunity to all medicine. Not only did he live in permanent agony, there was nothing he could do to dull the pain. Despite his power and fame, he was glad when death finally took him.
