DC Comics

Killer Croc has suffered a congenital disorder from birth which regresses his body and mind to a reptilian state. Although he had a crocodile-like hide in his debut, he didn't look too bad. I mean, he wasn't going to win a beauty pageant or anything but he could have looked worse. And then the writers thought, "Make him look worse". Every time he tangles with the Dark Knight, Killer Croc seems to resemble a human being less and less. Over the years, he has developed razor-sharp canines, claws, a tail, jagged skin, and a protruding snout.

Sadly, his transformation isn't just physical. In his first few appearances, he was intelligent, articulate, and could wield a sniper rifle with ease. During this time, his goal was to become the leader of the criminal underworld.

As his condition worsened, his mind debilitated until he was no more than a wild animal. Nowadays, his goal is to steal money to reverse his disorder before he loses all his humanity. Killer Croc may have killed dozens of innocent victims but considering the hand he was dealt in life, you can't help but feel sorry for him.
