11 Essential Comics To Read If You Love Batman

The Caped Crusader boasts a massive history, but where's best to start?

Since just about everyone out there loves Batman (even if his presence can feel overbearing at times), it makes sense to draw attention to some of his best loved classics, especially so, seeing as how comics are a massive b*tch to get into.

It can certainly be difficult for fans to fully explore their interest in a given character, and since Batman is so popular, the rule undoubtedly applies to him too. While there are certain books you should read if you're looking to get into the medium more generally, if you're more Bat-inclined - and at odds with the character's massive history - then you should probably get to know which books out there are easy enough to find, read, and enjoy.

For the purists among you, yes, you'll be happy to know that Frank Miller doesn't feature post-2000, and that this list in particular will look at a wide selection of writers and artists so that everyone (hopefully!) is catered for. And while plenty of the books on here would find a home on a feature discussing the character's greatest hits, books have been chosen (mainly) if they're easy to find and even easier to jump on.

The medium's a scary place, but we can try and make things a little easier for all those concerned. Especially, in this case, for the more Bat-inclined.
