The giant purple people killer is back in a limited series starting this April. Set way before the Guardians of the Galaxy or Avengers had even heard of the Mad Titan, Thanos will look at the relationship between him and his adopted daughter Gamora and how it develops after he takes her under his wing once her entire race is slaughtered.

Tini Howard has said how much she is looking forward to exploring the dynamic between the two main leads and how she sees Gamora as being the one who gets Thanos to confront his own madness. She has also claimed that interaction between them will be more in the vein of True Grit and Sandor Clegane and Arya Stark from Game of Thrones than it will represent the standard depiction of the characters, which promises to be interesting if nothing else.

With DC and Marvel legend Ariel Olivetti on inking duties, this 'new' origin story looks to be very promising, and if it's successful enough, it may even force the House of Mouse to make this duo a permanent fixture.
