11 Justice League Fates Worse Than Death

6. Being Under Darkseid's Spell - Final Crisis

Justice League Superman Batman Wonder Woman
DC Comics

Final Crisis famously had three billion people under the control of Darkseid and his Anti-Life Equation, with the Dark God ominously close to achieving his mission of ruling Earth and rebuilding the planet in his own twisted image.

For Wonder Woman, she was one of several heroes who ended up under the spell of the Lord of Apokolips; to the extent that she even became a member of the Female Furies.

Alongside Batwoman, Catwoman and Giganta, this new iteration of this infamous group carried out Darkseid's bidding, hunting down and eliminating any heroes or villains who opted to fight back against the New God's reign of terror.

With Wonder Woman leading this incarnation of the Female Furies - complete with an intimidating ape mask across her face - the four characters were only freed from Darkseid's clutches once the sinister villain was finally toppled; Diana then later being the one to discover Darkseid's dusty, dead body, and utilising her Lasso of Truth to fully put this rogue to rest.

It wasn't just Wonder Woman, Batwoman, Catwoman and Giganta who were under Darkseid's charge in Final Crisis, though. With his plan in full swing, this nefarious figure managed to control a whole slew of other familiar DC favourites before his mission came crumbling down.
