12 Captain America Moments That Shocked The World

3. Captain America Turns Into An Old Man

Although Cap died in the events mentioned in the previous entry, he was back to his normal self a few years later. However, Rogers suffered many hardships after returning from the dead.

You see, the Serum that turned Steve into Captain slowed down his ageing, allowing him to have impeccable strength and agility even though he's in his 90s. That all changed when he encountered a terrorist called the Iron Nail, who had the ability to drain the life-force out of anyone he touched. While battling the Iron Nail, the Serum flowing through Cap’s veins was neutralised, causing him to age rapidly to match his chronological age of 90 years.

Believing that he wasn’t physically capable of being a superhero anymore, Cap's partner, Sam "Falcon" Wilson, became the new Captain America while Rogers was hired as a mission coordinator for S.H.I.E.L.D.

Two years later, Rogers regained his strength and youth after being exposed to the Cosmic Cube. Since he was an elderly man for two years, readers were excited to see Steve Rogers becoming Captain America once more.

That's when Cap did the last thing readers would ever expect...
