12 Greatest Marvel Superheroes Of All Time

2. Wolverine

Marvel Universe Alex Ross
Marvel Comics

Choosing the number one character in the Marvel Universe was rather easy you'll understand when you see our choice. Picking the number two was far more difficult as there are so many amazing characters to choose from.

The man who's best at what he does, even if what he does isn't very nice had to take the number two spot. Wolverine, aka Logan, James Howlett, Patch, and the last thing you see before you die is, by far, one of the most popular characters in all of comics.

He first appeared back in a single panel of The Incredible Hulk #180 (full appearance one issue later) in 1974. He was developed from that point into a mutant who had been kicking around the Marvel Universe since the 19th century.

Wolverine's popularity was always pretty high up there, but it only elevated to cosmic levels thanks to Hugh Jackman's performance in the first X-Men film. Since that time, he went on to play the character in a total of nine movies including Logan, which is one of the highest rated Marvel Mutant movies ever made. Even with Marvel killing the character in the comics and on the silver screen, he simply won't die. The fans won't allow it.
