Given the fact that they both occupy space in the Marvel Comics Universe, it was only a matter of time before the Guardians Of The Galaxy and Venom came into direct contact. In the meet-up story, Venom headed to the Symbiote's home planet but came into conflict with the Guardians on the way, becoming more unpredictable before the Guardians managed to defeat him.

Unfortunately, they then decided to keep it stored in a containment jar, from which it escaped and infected Groot, leading to a hellish monster that perpetually shouted "I AM VENOM!"

It was a fairly brief relationship in the end as Drax stepped in to separate the Symbiote from Groot.
