12 Unfairly Hated DC Comics Characters

In Zack Snyder’s recent films, Superman is painted as a guy who knows he’s great, but also feels that he doesn’t owe humanity one bit. Since our movie industry has chosen to present Superman in this unlikeable way, maybe we’re right to hate him at the moment.

Or maybe that’s unfair to movies. After all, Superman has been insulted as “your grandpa’s boring old superhero” for years. People think he’s bland after being subjected to decades of obnoxiously upright rebrands.

But let’s not forget Superman’s initial impact. When he came on the scene in 1938, he was a rambunctious outsider, a hero for the little guy.

That’s why recent stories like Grant Morrison’s “Action Comics” and Max Landis’ “American Alien” are so awesome— they show an un-watered-down Superman, the upstart that understands. Superman shouldn’t be a boring brooder; Superman should make things happen. It’s not called “Action Comics” for nothing.

Nathan Hastings hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
