12 Unfairly Hated DC Comics Characters
4. Plastic Man
Plastic Man is scoffed at as a useless, degenerate wisecracker by comic readers and Justice League members alike. Admittedly, his style can lean a bit toward slapstick. He certainly has the deck stacked against him design-wise too, what with that low-cut leotard and fishnet combo. If you think Plastic Man is just a pile of trash, even he would agree with you.
But make no mistake— Plastic Man is one of the most powerful characters in the DC Universe. His stretchy flesh is indestructible, with no observed limits to the size and shape of his body can take. He once spent 3,000 years scattered over the ocean floor before gathering himself back up again, suggesting that he's also immortal.
And the fact that he’s a schmuck with bad self-esteem just means that he’s got a compelling human side. He's got conflict built right into him. As Frank Miller himself describes Plastic Man: “Immeasurably powerful. Absolutely nuts.”
