Like the previous entry in this list fans were tricked into being lured by a versus in the title, but were instead given a ridiculous team-up that was at best a huddled mess of a story. In Superman vs. Muhammad Ali, an alien armada known as the Scrubb have demanded the greatest champion of the Earth take on their greatest warrior. Because in the days before the internet, fighting really was the only suitable filler for a boring Saturday afternoon, as well as the preeminent way to find a solution to any problem. Somehow someone thought Superman and Muhammad Ali taking down an entire alien invasion by themselves was a rational exercise in story-telling with some confidence, I can tell you that person was clearly on some kind of psychotropic medication, or at least some backwater Tennessee moonshine. But at least one thing fans got out of this was the discovery that without his powers Superman could easily get beat up by an aging boxer during the twilight of his career.
