The author of Weaveworld, The Thief of Always and the creator of the Hellraiser, Clive Barker is probably most famous for his novels, but he's been making movies almost as long as he's been writing stories, having written the screenplays for two horror films in the mid-1980s before taking control of how his material was produced by writing and directing the first Hellraiser film (which he's just about to remake). He's had an off-and-on movie career since then, alternately writing, producing and directing either adaptations of his own work or original material, even founding his own production company Midnight Picture Show. But Barker's also had a finger in the comic book game for a long time now, first lending his name and plots to Marvel's Razorline imprint before allowing Marvel to make various adaptations from his other work - mostly Hellraiser books and spinoffs, which the author himself wrote for. In recent years Barker has been writing original comics for IDW and Boom! Studios, including 3D horror comic Seduth (co-written by Chris Monfette and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez) and the upcoming epic Next Testament (co-written by Mark Miller), in addition to lending his name to IDW's ongoing Hellraiser comic that follows directly on from the events of the Clive Barker-produced Hellbound: Hellraiser II.
