I probably don't have to tell you that the creators of the Matrix trilogy and screenwriters/producers of V For Vendetta are pretty big comics fans, do I? The sibling filmmakers have long been fans of anime and sequential art, citing them as big influences on their work, as can be seen in their Animatrix shorts and the Matrix comics they wrote between 1999-2004. But you may not have known that the Wachowskis actually started out writing comics before they ever even had a script produced in La-La-Land. Lana (then Larry) actually wrote Ectokid for (#11 on this list) Clive Barker's Razorline comics along with various comic adaptations of his books in the early '90s, with Andy supposedly making some uncredited contributions to certain issues. Then Hollywood came calling, and after a brief few years in the limelight the Wachowskis returned to the form with the aforementioned Matrix comics and two original series created by Geof Darrow and published through their Burlyman productions, Doc Frankenstein and Shaolin Cowboy, which both ended up writing in some capacity or other.
