13 Truths Comic Book Fans Would Never Admit To Themselves

5. You Have A Soft Spot For Adam West's Batman

What You Say: 1966€™s Batman TV series had a huge impact on pop culture. Even though it only lasted three seasons, it€™s presence is so massive that decades after the show has ended, any time a newspaper writer is assigned an article about comics, they decide to be clever by including the €œBiff! Pow! Zam!€ sound effects in the title. And because of that damn show, now lots of people still think comics are campy kids€™ stuff! Batman€™s not some Batusi-dancing guy with an endless supply of weird gadgets, he€™s a grim avenger of the night! And don€™t get me started on Robin. Ugh, the show was so ridiculous. But What You Really Mean: Doesn€™t matter if you were alive when the show was on the air or not, chances are high you watched it when you were a kid. And you loved it. You probably tied a towel around your neck and acted out the punches and kicks. Probably even called your room the Batcave. You may now prefer the dark, grim Batman, but when you were a kid, Adam West was your Batman, and you still have a copy of the movie that you watch every now and then with a smile on your face.
