Letting Go...But Never Moving On In one of the few displays of his true humanity that we've seen in this New 52 run, it wasn't until Batman and Nightwing beat The Heretic within an inch of his life that Batman finally stops to mourn the death of his son. In a great panel alongside Alfred, Bruce sits down to watch old training video of he and Damian, calmly and silently reflecting on his child who was a fierce warrior and stubborn partner. Their relationship was at times tumultuous, but it grew into what their father and son relationship could be, given the unique circumstances which brought them together. Damian grew to love his father in what little time they had together, and Bruce grew to not only love his son, but also to trust in himself so he could become something more than a man obsessed with vengeance. They had not yet come become a great, cohesive crime-fighting team, but they were instead making greater progress in their relationship as father and son...progress cut short by order of Damian's mother.
