14 Weirdest Comic Book Weaknesses

1. Joker - A Need To Fight Batman

Red Hulk Fire
DC Comics

Over the last 80 years, the Joker has plagued Gotham with his crime sprees and mind games. He's paralysed Batgirl, beat Robin to death, Jokerised the Justice League and shot Jim Gordon's wife dead. Even though he has concocted more evil plans than any other supervillain, he has never tried the most obvious scheme possible: kill Batman.

He has kidnapped his arch-enemy and strapped him to a chair or harness dozens of times and yet, has never put a bullet in his skull. The heckling horror has admitted he knows Batman's true identity and yet, has never considered exposing him publicly.

The reason why is simple. He NEEDS Batman. If the Joker killed him, what would he do? He needs a hero to drive him. If Gotham's protector was out of the picture, the Clown Prince of Crime would never find a worthier adversary.

He proved he can't live without his nemesis in the Emperor Joker storyline. In this saga, the nefarious clown obtained godhood and rewrote the universe in his image. But when he tried to erase Batman from reality, he realised he couldn't. The Joker can never kill Batman because he knows he is incomplete without him.
