15 Essential Tips For Surviving Comic Con 2014

7. Stay Healthy, Stay Fresh

One of the most disgusting aspects of the SDCC legend is "con crud". You know fresher's flu, the terrible ailment that befalls first year university students when they all flock from across the country and bring their unique forms of illness that all mix together and get everyone ill? Yeah, that's what happens at San Diego, too. People from all over the states - all over the world, in some cases - are brought together in very cramped, not particularly hygienic conditions. It's a breeding ground for germs and infection. If you're a hypochondriac and are going to Comic Con...our thoughts are with you at this trying time. It's a perfect storm, really. You will be shaking a lot of hands, with both fans and celebs you meet, so it's a good idea to carry a little bottle of sanitiser, or at least to wash your hands in the bathroom fairly regularly. And will you please make sure to shower and use deodorant? Like actually use it? The body odour of geeks is an unfortunate, and often untrue, stereotype. But that doesn't mean that there won't be people swanning around smelling like a dumpster. Don't be one of them. Don't make us all look bad.
