He might not look like much, but Mr. Mxyzptlk is someone who even Superman can never afford to underestimate. That's because he has incredibly powerful reality altering powers which even the Man of Steel isn't immune to, while the fact that Superman couldn't use brute force in their early encounters - he instead had to trick the villain into saying his own name backwards - just complicated things even further! There have been almost countless versions of Mxyzptlk over the years, but all of them have caused chaos in the life of Superman, whether that's been in humorous stories or ones in which he's proved himself a truly sadistic and deadly force. As he's an immortal who gets bored easily, Superman looks to be a source of entertainment for years to come for this court magician for the Emperor of the 5th Dimension (it's complicated).
