15 Greatest X-Men Villains Of All Time

2. Apocalypse

Everyone is about to get a lot more familiar with Apocalypse later this year when Oscar Isaac brings the villain to life in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse, but his comic book counterpart has been making his presence felt for decades now. The world's first mutant, En Sabah Nur was born in ancient Egypt, and stands out as the most powerful threat that the heroic team have ever had the misfortune of taking on in battle. While they've always found a way of overcoming the villain, readers got a glimpse into what the world would look like had he won in the iconic "Age of Apocalypse" storyline. That alternate reality has had an impact on the X-Men ever since, and stopping that future coming to pass has actually played a role in many of their adventures. While he's currently believed to be dead, Apocalypse is set to make his return a little later this year.
