14. The Green Lanterns Were Not The Guardians' First Creations

After settling on Oa, the Guardians quickly began implementing their plans to develop a means to control the universe that they now perceived as flawed and volatile.

The Manhunters were created by the Guardians to preserve order in the cosmos, and to achieve this their creators ensured that they lacked any kind of emotional capacity. However, Krona, a rogue Guardian, believed that the unfeeling automatons' programming made them flawed.

To remedy this, he repurposed the Manhunters into believing that emotions (and therefore organic life) was flawed and this led to the robots massacring life in the entirety of Sector 666.

Fortunately, the Guardians were able to defeat most of their creation but some hid across the cosmos, even infiltrating planets such as Mars and Earth. The ordeal made the ancient beings realize the importance of a police force driven by empathy and emotional range, rather than cold, flawed logic.
