8. Why Does Earth Have Multiple Green Lanterns?
From Hal Jordan to Kyle Rayner and Jessica Cruz, it is pretty evident that Earth is somewhat more favoured in the Corps' ranks compared to other planets. At first, it was assumed (in the real world) that this was due to human Lanterns being more relatable, but the true reason is a bit more meta than expected.
In a 2021 Green Lantern issue, the Guardians revealed that Earth has multiple Lanterns due to its special status as a Crux World. Crux Worlds are planets whose status is key to the development of the universe and require far more protection and guidance than usual.
There are a total of seven, and Earth is referred to as the Crux of Heroes due to its fraction of a population engaged in protecting the cosmos. This in turn confirms that the human Lanterns are among the Corps' best due to their affiliation to the planet.
