Wonder Woman was created by Psychologist, William Mouton Marston a strident feminist who had a taste for bondage and powerful women. It should come as no surprise that Marstons superhero came from an island comprised completely of women. During the Silver Age Wonder Woman was given a back-story that aligned with her creators ideology. Wonder Woman was not the by-product of hetero-sexual relations; rather, Princess Diana of Themyscira was hand crafted from the clay by the Amazonian Queen, Hippolyta. As one of the earliest feminist icons within comics, Wonder Womans origin reinforced that she was not to be defined by the world of man. Well, along came The New 52, which completely turned Wonder Womans origin on her head. No longer was Wonder Woman creation immaculate; rather, writer Brian Azzarello retconed it to where Hippolyta gave birth to Wonder Woman after getting it on with Zues. Although this a perfectly logical and sensible origin for a character that derives from Greek mythology, this change is not in line with the characters original intent as a strong feminist superhero. No longer is Diana begotten of a woman, without the influence a male progenitor. Rather, rather Wonder Woman's new demigod status is now defined by her father being Zeus.
Since childhood, Bryant has been an avid fan of superheroes, and he has been reading comic books since 2006. His full name is "George Bryant Lucas"; however, after enduring countless Darth Vader jokes, he has chosen to go by his middle name. Born and raised in the United States, Bryant is currently living with his lovely wife in the country side of Wiltshire County, UK. Bryant does suffer from a mild case of dyslexia; misspellings and homonyms are to be expected on occasion.
