You cannot have missed the recent rise of zombie fiction; The Walking Dead, World War Z and Shaun of the Dead have been immensely popular, and this success is seen at Comic-Con. The dilapidated look, the expressionless face and the identifiable walk of the undead are hard to miss, and it is easy to see why this costume has become so popular. Imagine travelling to Comic-Con by public transport dressed as a zombie; you would be met by gasps and unease. Travelling dressed as a superhero will earn you some cheers and photo requests, but on the whole you feel slightly ridiculed by everyone elses look. The zombie avoids this completely. They are without doubt one of the eeriest looking costumes because they can be so easily created yet look so real. The convention will not look like it has been overrun by zombies entirely; there are bound to be plenty of other characters to dilute them, but they will be there in some capacity. Prepare to be scared for a second every time you catch a glimpse of these costumes, because they are often amazing.
