The mother of Batgirl (and therefore one-time love of David Cain) is one of DC's most skilled assassins. Working against and alongside Batman at different times, Lady Shiva is renowned for being a master at bare-handed killing - and she is proud of her own abilities. Fighting all challengers, and congratulating those that successfully manage to make any sort of mark on her, Shiva knows that she is perhaps the greatest fighter in DC's universe, but is always looking to provide training opportunities for anyone else that she believes worthy. A frequent member of The League Of Assassins, and probably the most skilled member of the team ever, she was even employed by Batman to retrain him after Bane infamously broke his spine. Unlike David Cain, who trained a young Bruce Wayne, Shiva was deemed deadly and skilful enough to grant her experiences to an incredibly well-honed and disciplined older Batman. She is one of the most respected figures on this list. However, she certainly does not have the sense of honour that, say, Batman has, and in fact tried to con the Dark Knight into breaking his no killing rule. Smarter, quicker and more skilled than practically any other comic book character without superpowers, Lady Shiva is arguably the greatest female assassin ever.
