Fantomex is arguably a "superhero", given his tendency to team up with the likes of the X-Men, but he has taken on more than enough killing contracts to merit inclusion here. His design is modelled on popular French and Italian comic criminals like Fantômas and Diabolik, but his actions are often far darker than those of his predecessors. The character retains the same illusory powers of villains like Mysterio, and is able to con his opponents into believing that something is happening when it actually isn't. He has telepathic powers, and is gifted with enhanced speed, agility, strength and marksmanship. He can't be controlled by others with telepathic powers because of his mask, and he has three brains - meaning he can keep fighting, even having been shot in one part of his head. In other words, Fantomex is the ultimate killing machine. He has rapidly become a cult figure in Marvel's canon, although he is yet to achieve recognition with a wider audience. His kill-list is relatively shot compared to others on this list, but his impressive abilities, awesome design and connections to two legendary figures in comic book history make Fantomex deserving of celebration.
