Wolverine's female clone, and one of the few characters that can match the famous X-Men icon in battle, X-23 was created as a pure killing machine. She has the same adamantium claws and enhanced healing powers of Wolverine, but she also retains far greater intellect and knowledge of both munitions and martial arts techniques than him. It is not surprising, then, that she proves more than capable of matching him in a fight, overcoming him with her superior tactical nous. She will kill anyone for price - as she was trained to do - and her murderous rage is triggered by a deliberately selected scent that sends her on a killing spree when detected. X-23 eventually becomes a lighter character, joining the X-Force and teaming up with many of Marvel's heroes, but she started life as one of the most efficient killers in the universe. Her skills are so great that she is set to become the "new" Wolverine in Marvel's series set after his demise. This is no small achievement, given that Wolverine is one of the most popular figures in the history of graphic novels. This is a testament to just how well-respected her abilities are.
