For a very long while, Kraven the Hunter was considered to be something of a joke. That all changed when he buried Spider-Man alive (after shooting him at point blank range with what would later be revealed to be a tranquilizer) and took his place before committing suicide in one of the most iconic Spider-Man stories of all-time, "Kraven's Last Hunt". Kraven returned years later when his deranged family brought him back from the dead as part of a twisted ceremony which saw the death of Spider-Man staple, Madame Web. However, he's now unable to die, and the only man who can take his life is Peter Parker.
