There have been a number of versions of the Sinister Six over the years, making it difficult to single out any one roster as the best (there was even a Sinister Twelve for a short while). As a whole though, they've shown themselves to be one of the biggest threats to Spider-Man again and again. Whether he's defeated them individually, as a team, or by asking The Avengers for help, Spidey has consistently finds himself pushed to the edge by the group. As many appearances as they've made though, it still feels like the Sinister Six are lacking one truly definitive story. Perhaps Drew Goddard's scrapped movie would have told it?
