5. Do You Want To Make Men Obey You?

Surprisingly, the scam artists of the time weren't just pitching their nonsense at what was seen as the predominantly young male audience of the time. They also found the time to attempt to fleece the female readers of whatever comical books were deemed appropriate for young ladies of the era, who might be interested in making men obey them. Apparently CHEZ-ELLE was the strongest perfume available on the market at the time, and was such an overpowering scent that it would overwhelm men into doing whatever they want. It has since been replaced by Katy Perry's Killer Queen eau de toilette.
