20 Greatest Spider-Man Villains Ever
12. Hobgoblin
More than just a cheap knockoff of the Green Goblin, Hobgoblin is actually one of Spider-Man's most successful villains.
For years, the identity of who had been terrorising Peter Parker with an upgraded version of Norman Osborn's identity was a mystery. After numerous misdirects, he was unmasked as Mary Jane's corrupt employer Roderick Kingsley. Rather than being arrested or facing the wrath of the original Goblin though, Kingsley simply took his millions and retired to his personal island.
He later returned to crime when a man named Phil Urich tried to usurp the mantle of Hobgoblin. Kingsley easily defeated his competition and also revealed that he had a lucrative new business leasing identities to would-be supervillains.
