6. She Gave Up Her Costume And Powers For Five Years
For a bizarre period in the late '60s, Wonder Woman gave up her name, costume, and powers. Inspired by The Avengers TV series, her comic featured the character becoming known as "Diana Prince", learning martial arts from a stereotypical Chinese mentor named I Ching, and opening up a boutique. Needless to say, fans despised this new direction. It still somehow lasted for five years though, and DC Comics revisited the idea years later when she became a spy and once again wore a fully white costume. "The New 52" reboot has pretty much abandoned the Diana Prince secret identity, only hinting at it when Superman gave her a pair of glasses so they could go out on dates when he's Clark Kent.
