12. Samuel L. Jackson Allowed Marvel To Use His Likeness In The Avengers

Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch gave several of the characters in The Ultimates likenesses to certain celebrities, but no one stuck out more than Nick Fury. It was clear that he was based on Samuel L. Jackson, but Marvel never actually got the actor's permission to use his likeness. However, when he saw his face being used and contacted them, they promised Jackson the role in future movies, a promise which was kept when he appeared in Iron Man. When Millar and Jackson met on the set of Kingsman: The Secret Service, he was apparently quick to thank the writer for helping him to land a nine picture deal as the S.H.I.E.L.D. boss.
