4. Hawkeye Became Captain America

Following the events of Civil War, Steve Rogers was seemingly shot and killed. That left the Marvel Universe without a Captain America, and Tony Stark at one point gave Hawkeye the shield and costume. He took both out for a spin, but a clash with the anti-registration Young Avengers led to him turning the offer down and joining the outlaw Avengers. Clint's respect for Steve was nice to see, especially as the two had always had an antagonistic relationship.
