8. He Had Bone Claws
It took around 15 years for the story behind Wolverine's metal claws to be revealed, and it was another decade or so after that until his actual origin was explored by Marvel. Much to the surprise of fans, his claws were shown to have originally been bone and part of his skeleton. This has obviously been explored on the big screen since and, just like in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, his bone claws first appeared as a child when he killed his birth father (a groundskeeper his mother had an affair with called "Logan"). Wolverine actually had these claws for decades until they were coated in the indestructible Adamantium.
