Before helming the highest grossing superhero movie of all-time with The Avengers, Joss Whedon was best known for TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly. However, he also has some very interesting ties to the X-Men. His Astonishing X-Men run reintroduced the classic X-Men costumes after they had been clad in leather to more closely resemble their big screen counterparts. Whedon made his disdain for those boring outfits clear in the comic book, and perhaps that has something to do the only thing used from his rewrite of Bryan Singer's X-Men were Storm's line to Toad and Wolverine calling Cyclops a d*ck.
