20 Most Controversial Comics Covers Of All Time

7. God Comics #2

This cover is simply shocking, as it is rife with controversial material. If there are two things that people will react strongly to, it€™s religion and Nazis. Put them together on a page, and that€™s dynamite waiting to explode. Even though much of the West has moved away from Christianity, this image would have been extremely offensive in its day, as Jesus was much more of a cultural hero to the West in the early 1900s. Frankly, many Christians today would say that they are offended by the idea of Nazis crucifying Christ €“ not to mention that God looks ridiculous in this picture, as he crashes through a window while not wearing trousers.

Since childhood, Bryant has been an avid fan of superheroes, and he has been reading comic books since 2006. His full name is "George Bryant Lucas"; however, after enduring countless Darth Vader jokes, he has chosen to go by his middle name. Born and raised in the United States, Bryant is currently living with his lovely wife in the country side of Wiltshire County, UK. Bryant does suffer from a mild case of dyslexia; misspellings and homonyms are to be expected on occasion.
