24 Strangest Celebrity Cameos In Comic Book History
6. Barack Obama
When you're elected as the first black President of the United States, you tend to find yourself a major public figure even before you've even begun your job. Indeed, as soon as word hit the news that Obama had beaten McCain for the 2008 Presidential Election, Marvel immediately got on board with a story to tie in with the 2009 Inaugural Address. In the story, a second Obama arrives while the first one is being inaugurated. With the Secret Service agents confused, Spider-Man arrives and begins questioning both. When the second Obama fails to answer what his middle name is, he reveals himself to be the Chameleon, leading to a brief fight wherein Spider-Man turns over the villain to the police. The president then thanks Spidey, who proceeds to watch the procedure from the Washington Monument.
5. Stephen Colbert
Colbert's always been known as an eccentric figure on Comedy Central, from his recurring stint on The Daily Show to his own program The Colbert Report. Whether it's parodying Bill O'Reilly or actually reporting on some news, you can always expect pure random craziness from the comedian. In 2008, Colbert chose to "run" for president. Requesting publicity from Joe Quesada (who was still taking heat from ruining Spider-Man), Colbert got himself a short issue in promoting "Colbert for President". Even for a farce, you have to admit that was pretty strange yet awesome.
Red Stewart is big fan of the entertainment industry, with insights into film, television, and video games for starters. Despite growing up in the 21st century's era of modernization, he prefers many retro era ideas over the current trends found in many of today's media. Personally he's an introvert who loves reading as much as gaming.
