2. Terry Moore
Terry Moore is an artist that makes you fall in love. His attention to detail with his characters make them as beautiful as they realistic. Moore shines with his black and white work. From Strangers in Paradise right up to his current run on the fantastic Rachel Riding, the lines he creates, mostly in faces and mannerisms draws you into to his worlds and makes you feel like you are amongst friends. Moore's girls are cute, vulnerable and full of flaws but they grow over time and we grow with them. I am a very big fan of his sci-fi spin in the wonderful Echo. Telling the story of a girl who is bonded with a metallic chest plate from a military experiment gone wrong and the ever increasing fallout that comes from it. Moore's delicate but character driven art sells you even the most ludicrous of plot turns and in the world of comic books there are not many writer/artists that do female led comic book stories quite so well.
Recommended Works: For an across the board look at all that Terry Moore is capable of Echo is the place to start. It's a fantastic story with great characters and plot twists and you'll be hard pressed to find this many liable characters within one story really. Rachel Rising is also in it's early days and should be easy enough for any newcomers to dive into. Basically, when it comes to Terry Moore, almost everything he does is a piece of art packed full of wonderful women (and indeed men but mostly women).
