5 Totally Non-Essential Batman Stories You Should Check Out Anyway

1. The Joker Blogs

One of the coolest works of fan-fiction ever, these video blogs supposedly bridge the gap between the events of The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, taking the form of the Joker€™s taped therapy sessions in Arkham Asylum. In his own, suitably twisted fashion, the Clown Prince (played by plucky young actor Scott McClure, who I hope we€™re going to see more of) romances his therapist, Harleen Quinzel, while indulging in both Machiavellian plotting and the blackest of black comedy. While clearly low-budget, the overall quality of the production is consistently decent, putting an original and compelling spin on the Nolanverse with plentiful bizarre twists, while unleashing a stream of gleeful in-jokes and winks to veteran Bat-fans.
