5 Ways To Revitalize DC Comics
5.Keep Batman Separate

This is admittedly controversial. Batman is, without a single doubt, the most popular character of the DC roster. His presence alone will get people to watch the sequel to a movie they hated. The issue here is that Batmans real world popularity has seeped into the fictional reality of the character.
Similar to how, over at Marvel, Peter Parker is now a successful, globetrotting CEO and Spider-Man is a corporate mascot whose image is licensed on merchandise in-universe because Dan Slott thinks the fictional Spidey should be as popular as the real one.
Batman is so popular that he rivals the silver age Superman for being way too powerful. Apparently, Batman with prep time can defeat any threat in the known universe. He can go toe to toe with Darkseid and live to tell about it. He can fight Superman and people will wonder if the Man of Steel has any hope of winning. Thats great when Batman is alongside the Justice League, but it makes one wonder how the hell Batman is ever able to be thwarted by Scarecrow.
The shared universe is one of the greatest aspects of superhero comics, so Batman shouldnt be relegated to his own separate earth or anything, but one of the reasons Nolans films were so popular and why we had such a long Zero Year arc from Scott Snyder is because people are yearning for that fallible Batman to return. Make Batman a true loner again. (With the exception of the Robins and Batgirls and Alfred and well, hes not really a loner and hasnt been one since 1940, but lets just consider loner to mean only hangs out with the Bat-family.")
Keep him out of space and away from mystical threats. Remind us that Batman is still human - show us a man who is just barely holding his own against the organized and costumed crime of Gotham City. You can still tell great stories. You can still have thirteen Bat-books on the stands. You just wont have a Batman who makes Superman look like a chump. Superman actually died. I dont think anyone would believe that Batman could be killed at this point. Change that.
