Even the man without fear can't escape relationship baggage.

We all know that dating is hard for superheroes. Late nights, busy schedules, and battles with your arch-nemesis can really wreck a relationship. However, sometimes the ones who really get the short end of the stick are the significant others of these heroes.

There is a long history of superhero girlfriends  that do not fare well after these relationships. Few women have had it harder than the ex-girlfriends of Daredevil, aka Matt Murdock. The Marvel hero, Daredevil has already appeared on the big screen back in 2003 and more recently made the jump to television series on Netflix.

For the most part in the Netflix series, Matt Murdock stayed single and only hinted at past tumultuous relationships.  However, in the comics Daredevil has a long and sordid history with many different women. They range from the classic damsels in distress to heroic equals and even villainous criminals. The ex-girlfriends of Daredevil rarely get to  just break up with him and move on. The paths of their lives are usually forever altered for the worse by being involved with the man without fear.

Aside from the stress of just dating a superhero, there are also villains that plot to ruin Matt Murdock's life by destroying those he loves. If that was not enough, Daredevil himself has not always been the best boyfriend, often putting his heroic crusade ahead of the needs of anyone else.

These are the top five women that could have been better off if they had never dated Daredevil.

5. Heather Glenn

Although not that well known in the gallery of tragic relationships Matt Murdock has had in the comics, Heather Glenn definitely belongs in the ranks of women that have had the bad luck of crossing paths with the Man Without Fear. She was brought in by writer Marv Wolfman as the newest lady in Daredevil's life after he had moved back to Hell's Kitchen and recently split-up with the Black Widow.

Heather was a bubbly and fun heiress and the couple shared an on and off again relationship but she ultimately proved to be written as emotionally frail. Their relationship eventually turned toxic for both of them. Daredevil indirectly contributed to Heather's father killing himself which forces Heather to take over her father's company.

Murdock makes a mess of things again when she gets mixed up with the wrong people and he takes them down despite the consequences to her company. Heather also ends up taking her own life following the loss of her father and his company. She would have been better off never meeting Matt Murdock.
