6 Characters You Never Knew Pretended To Be Batman

In Tom King's current Rebirth series, he introduced a character known as 'Gotham', someone with a curse of having superpowers which shorten his lifespan. The more he uses them, the sooner he will die.

Although Batman starts out helping Gotham, and his sister Gotham Girl, the former quickly goes mad with the power, and weight of responsibility, eventually turning against the Dark Knight. In issue five of Batman Rebirth, Gotham demands Batman show up for a confrontation, but Bruce is otherwise indisposed, and needs time to formulate a plan to stop him.

In order to not enrage Gotham, Alfred suits up as Batman himself, driving the Batmobile to the meet-up, and very briefly appearing in front of the power-mad villain in full costume. Luckily, before he has to show off any fighting or detective skills, Bruce allows Alfred to drop the act and retreat, since he is seconds away.
