Uncanny Avengers follows the Unity Squad, a team consisting of X-Men and Avengers characters. This ongoing series is unique as Captain America is a member both before and after he became an agent of HYDRA.

More than any other title, this one sees Captain America's leadership met with opposition from his teammates. This series began in late 2015, with Gerry Duggan crafting the story.

The main antagonist of this comic is Red Skull, which creates an interesting dynamic. Captain America is serving the Red Skull while simultaneously having to give the impression he is trying to defeat him.

This is a good comic to read concurrently with Captain America: Steve Rogers as the two do have some fairly significant crossover.
