6 Comics You Need To Read Before Marvel's Secret Empire

This was Marvel comics' last big event and some major plot details will be continuing in Secret Empire. Most importantly, a new Inhuman, Ulysses, emerged who can predict future events.

Every vision of the future he had throughout Civil War II came to pass, except one. On the steps of the US Capitol, Miles Morales' Spider-Man is shown holding the limp and impaled body of Captain America, seemingly having killed him. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and art by David Marquez, they deliver a that shocking image in an expert fashion.

Towards the end of the event, the Captain America and Spider-Man met on the steps to try and prove the precognition was false. However, now that Captain America has taken over the government and is working from DC, it's likely that this event may be playing out in Secret Empire.

This series also saw Captain America become the Director of SHIELD, moving him one step closer to his ultimate takeover.
