6 Comics You've Never Heard Of That Should Be Netflix Shows

2. Strangers In Paradise

Watson and Holmes
Abstract Studio / Terry Moore

Strangers in Paradise ran from 1993-2007 and then returned with a sequel series in 2018. Created, written and drawn by Terry Moore, the first three issues were published by Antarctic Press, eight issues published through Image Comics and the rest of it's nearly 100 issue run were self-published.

This series is a dramedy and a striking mix of slice of life and romance with a love triangle between the main cast: Katchoo, David and Francine. It's also a thriller that deals with prostitution, espionage, a crime syndicate and female assassins.

The mystery elements are anchored by realistic characters who, for the most part, are just trying to deal with their daily struggles and move forward with their lives.

More well known then some of the other comics on this list, in 2017 a movie was announced, but no updates since then. If the movie falls through this series has the pacing and story to stretch out over seasons of a well-made Netflix show.

West loves pop culture, movies, comics and TV-shows just as much as you do. Probably. Since you're reading this. Also, she has a cat. He's pretty awesome.
