6 Reasons Valiant Will Be The Next Big Thing In Comics
3. They're Not Afraid To Have A Sense Of Humor
Many superhero comics of today take themselves a bit too seriously and have forgotten how to make people laugh. Valiant comics have shown they are not afraid to bring the funny when they can. For awhile, even a heart wrenching series like Bloodshot Reborn had a sidekick character called Bloodsquirt.
They even dedicate some series to this lighter tone and comedic sensibility. The series Quantum and Woody is full of racy humor and two main characters that are dreadfully flawed but too much fun to look away. There is also a genetically altered and super-powered goat on their team.
Archer & Armstrong is like the ultimate buddy cop movie played out on the page. Archer, the straight-laced and uptight assassin, is forced to team up with Armstrong, a heavy drinking and hard partying immortal of tremendous strength. Their stories play out like a more whimsical Indiana Jones, with them facing off against the like of nuns that know kung-fu and clones of Hitler. It’s a true adventure series with lots of laughter thrown in along the way. Valiant has not forgotten that part of being entertaining involves sometimes not being afraid to crack a joke.
