6 Ways Marvel Has Completely F**ked Up Comic Books For Everyone

5. They Treat Their Fans With Disdain

Instead of taking note of what fans want, Marvel have very much made it their mission in recent years to do only what they think is best for their readers, so it's really no wonder that retailers are reporting a drop in sales of upwards of 25%. The number of titles they release on a monthly basis has increased dramatically, but so too have cancellations, and people can't get invested in a series which will be relaunched six months later or put on hold for a ridiculously long amount of time while Marvel set up their latest event series. Still, it would help if they had a friendly face of the company to at least address some of these concerns, right? Senior Vice President of Publishing of Marvel Comics Tom Brevoort is anything but. Frequently scolding fans for pointing out obvious problems like many of the ones mentioned here, he frequently lies or talks down to them as if they're stupid, and has as a result gained a reputation for being a complete a**hole. Many of their writers and artists are no better - say something bad on Twitter about Dan Slott, I dare you - and act more like petulant children unable to handle criticism than creators for the biggest comic company in the world. Marvel loves the fans who praise them, but take a "You're wrong, we're right" approach with everyone else.
