6 Ways Marvel Has Completely F**ked Up Comic Books For Everyone

4. They're Kind Of Ruining Star Wars

Of all the comics Marvel are putting out right now, the Star Wars ones are among the best. However, their success has led to the same type of greediness the publisher has shown by filling stands with countless books revolving around The Avengers. It feels like the franchise is being watered down with titles revolving around supporting characters who don't need the spotlight; even C-3PO is getting his own one-shot story pretty soon! The majority of stories have so far been set after the events of A New Hope, and while there have been some great moments (Darth Vader discovering that Luke Skywalker is his son for example), there have also been many which are taking a lot away from the movies by introducing some really ridiculous plot elements which were never touched on in those; does Han really need a secret "wife" and why exactly does The Emperor have a group of secret apprentices who he enlisted to potentially replace Vader after the destruction of the Death Star?! It just feels like Marvel are milking the franchise dry while simultaneously damaging it. Bear in mind that these stories are all canon too, and while Lucasfilm are involved, how much input they have beyond steering them in a general direction of what to avoid is hard to say. Either way, while these Star Wars comics started out strong, it's hard not to be concerned that Marvel are going to screw them up as time goes on, leaving this franchise just as messy and tedious as many of their main superhero characters.
