Any person who has been coveted by both Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D and has manipulated them both, is bound to be one hell of a spy. Jessica Drew was born a regular human. Her father, an overly ambitious scientist, moved his family to a location where he hoped to kickstart his research. As it turned out, the land they were living on, had uranium underneath.

But while her dad flourished, Jessica grew mortally ill thanks to the prolonged uranium exposure. In a desperate bid to save Jessica, her dad injected her with a cocktail of different kinds of spider blood. Because of course he did.

Not only did this heal her, but it also granted her spider powers. See you don’t always have to get bit. Now a full-fledged superhuman, she re-joined the outside world and even found a boyfriend. Unfortunately, during a prank gone wrong, her powers triggered a defensive response that killed him. Following this, she was hunted for practicing witchcraft. She fled, eventually ended being sheltered by none other than Hydra.

The good folks at Hydra, needless to say, molded her into an assassin and sent her to kill Nick Fury. She refused, defeated her boss and embarked on her own career as a superhero slash double agent slash anti-hero slash literally anything you can imagine.

She became a smash-hit success as a private investigator, nearly died during a time travelling mission, lost control of her powers, re-joined Hydra, spied on S.H.I.E.L.D, became a pawn in the Skrull invasion of Earth and, the list goes on. James Bond has got nothing on her.

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
